Context

Spirulina became famous after NASA successfully used it as a food supplement for astronauts on space missions. It is one of the world's most potent, concentrated and nutritious superfoods that can be grown with minimal resources. It provides a lot of energy, is very healthy and has few calories. Spinoa is the only brand in Romania that promotes alternative nutrition and the use of spirulina as a food and an easy-to-use spice to prepare various dishes. Spirulina is a relatively new product on the market, with a "new" taste and smell to today's gastronomy.

Challenge

The objective was to introduce a startup through a clear, professional, and fresh design which promotes spirulina use in gastronomy and slowly moves it beyond its conventional use in the pharmaceutical industry.

Solution

I was responsible for the comprehensive rebranding of their business. This involved developing their e-shop platform, creating new packaging designs for all their product ranges, establishing social media communication & designing visuals for three communication pillars, setting guidelines for all stationery materials and presence at fairs, and product photography. In addition, I have collaborated with Spinoa & Adrian Sistem Glassware to build a "living object" that generates spirulina.
